George Forsythe has dedicated his life to helping others navigate the complexities of trauma, addiction, and personal crises. After a distinguished 25-year career as a state trooper, George transitioned into the role of a psychotherapist, founding Driftwood Psychotherapy specifically with first responders in mind. His deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by those in high-stress public service roles enables him to provide tailored, empathetic support.
George's expertise encompasses a broad range of therapeutic areas, including substance abuse-related addictions, pornography, conflict resolution, crisis counseling, domestic violence, relationship conflict, and grief. He is skilled in utilizing integrative approaches such as EMDR and hypnosis to facilitate healing and recovery. His commitment to first responders extends beyond his clinical practice; George also serves as a Certified Field Traumatologist with the Green Cross, where he assists with the mental health needs of first responders, volunteers, and victims of both man-made and natural disasters.
In addition to his hands-on work, George is the author of "I Am That Centurion: My Journey from Cop to Counselor," a book that details his transition from law enforcement to psychotherapy, available on Amazon.
